Select fresh, green lemongrass stems,
As well as a nice piece of ginger root,
Available at your purveyor of exotic produce.
This is all about infusing:
Boil the required amount of water in a pan.
Once it boils,
Lower the heat, and
Throw in the lemongrass,
Thoroughly rinsed and cut into round slices.
Add the ginger, also peeled and cut into rounds.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Then, switch off the heat, and
Let steep for 5 minutes.
Sweeten with honey.
Serve…
Either hot, in a teapot or
Iced, in a carafe filled with ice cubes!
Enjoy!
- I like to leave the ginger and lemongrass pieces in the carafe in the iced version.
Be sure to strain, however, for the evening version!
