Peel and seed the ripe fragrant tomatoes.
Cut them into large cubes.
Drain in a colander over a bowl in order to
Collect their water.
Hull the strawberries and
Cut them in half.
Rinse ten basil leaves or so.
In a blender,
Place the tomatoes with
The rendered water,
The strawberries,
The basil leaves,
A pinch of salt, and
A drizzle of olive oil.
Blend.
The consistence should be that of a beverage.
Add water if needed.
Pour into a carafe, and
Serve in small glasses.
A delightful “amuse-bouche!”

Strawberries add a wonderfully subtle taste to this beverage.
For a pleasant change,
substitute watermelon for the strawberries!
For one carafe:
➢ 6 or 7 good-size ripe tomatoes
➢ 10 basil leaves
➢ 10 strawberries
➢ Pinch of salt
➢ Drizzle of olive oil
